Eighth grade students — celebrate the end of middle school and your promotion to high school! The evening — exclusively for Lincoln 8th graders — includes a DJ, photo booth, food, sweet treats, fun giveaways, and unforgettable memories with your friends! Let’s make this night one to remember! If you have any questions or concerns please contact Darci Keleher at [email protected].
Time — Dance will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Check-in begins at 6:45 p.m. and doors close at 7:15 pm. We WILL NOT allow late entry due to District Safety Requirements/Policy. All students will be released when the dance ends at 9:30 pm. Any parent needing early release can come to the gate and we will locate your student. As per the cell phone policy, do not contact your student via cell phone.
Location — Lincoln Middle School Cafeteria. Drop off and pick up through the front security gate entrance on California Avenue.
Permission Slip/Waiver — Please review and complete the permission slip/waiver for your child to attend the dance and discuss the policies with your student. The form can be found HERE. Students will not be admitted unless the form is completed.
Theme/Attire – We encourage you to dress to impress. Our theme of Electric Nite will have blacklight features – so keep that in mind when choosing an outfit. Students do not need to dress for prom (suits are not necessary), however, no students will be admitted in tshirts, ripped jeans, sweats, etc. Please dress appropriately for a semi-formal event.
Donations Needed – We are still behind our fundraising goal and really encourage each family to contribute to our class fund. Any amount is appreciated. You can donate HERE.
Cell Phone Policy – Cell phone policy is in the waiver but essentially if we see it we take it and don’t give it back until Monday when a parent picks it up. They can bring them, they just can’t use them (just like school). We will not return any phones until Monday with no exceptions.
Wish List Items For Dance – The funds we raise help to pay for the DJ, photo booth, food, and decor but there are some items above and beyond that we would like to purchase. Please review our wish list of items (including Amazon links) that we really need to make the dance spectacular HERE.
SlideShow Photos Needed — During the dance, there will be a slideshow playing photos of the 2025 8th grade class from their last 3 years at Lincoln. We are looking for candid, school event photos of groups. Group photos on campus, band events, dances events, Lincoln sport team events, field trips, school celebrations, musicals, etc. Please submit your photos to our Google Album HERE.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
- 6th and 7th Grade Parents —Traditionally, we ask 6th-grade and 7th-grade parents to help chaperone and assist behind the scenes so that the 8th graders can enjoy their special night without their own parents watching from the sidelines. We need volunteers to help with check-in, chaperoning during the dance, serving food, and check-out. Your support will ensure that this event runs smoothly while also giving you a sneak peek at what’s in store for next year! Thank you in advance for making this a memorable night for our soon-to-be graduates! Sign Up HERE
- 8th Grade Parents — We need your help to make it a special night for our students! We’re looking for volunteers to assist with decorating and setting up before the dance as well as cleaning up afterward. This is a great way to contribute without having to be at the dance itself—so your kids can enjoy their big night without parental supervision! Thank you for helping us create a wonderful send-off for the Class of 2025! Sign Up HERE
Code of Conduct — The Lincoln Middle School Code of Conduct must be adhered to by all attendees.
Please speak to your child about conduct at this semi-formal event, reviewing the waiver with them, including cell phone policy, bag policy, behavior, etc. We want to have a fun night celebrating and to avoid calling parents to pick up early during the dance or confiscating phones.
